Get in on the Holiday Events Held on Johns Creek Properties

Public Johns Creek properties are collecting toys for kids. This holiday season, families who live in Johns Creek have the opportunity to attend a wide variety of activities and events as part of their holiday festivities. The community-wide options for celebrating this year provide something for every family, and everyone is invited to participate.

For those who want to make the spirit of giving a deep part of their holiday traditions, the Johns Creek 11th Annual Toys for Tots Campaign provides a way for them to put smiles on the faces of children in less-fortunate circumstances this season. Donated toys have been accepted since the 13th of November, and the drive will continue through the 15th of December, so that people have plenty of time to get involved. The toys themselves should be left unwrapped and in their original packaging to simplify the process. Families who want to take part are encouraged to remember that many people donate toys that are appropriate for young children, but there is a great need for toys for kids who are 10 to 12 years old as well. The Toys for Tots donations can be dropped of at 5 different Johns Creek properties: City Hall, Fire Station #61, Fire Station #62, Fire Station #63, and Park Place. There will be music and holiday fun for the whole family, and parents are encouraged to bring their camera because Santa will even be available for photographs! On the 9th, children can be dropped off for the Treats and Trinkets festivities where they will be able to make nature-themed gifts and crafts. They will make trinkets for their friends and families and also treats for the birds during the winter. Then on the 17th they can join the fun for the Cookies and Crafts activities where kids can participate in crafts from the past while they learn about how the settlers celebrated the holidays and enjoy holiday treats. The fun is for all children from 6 to 11 years old and only costs $7 for members or $10 for non-members. Get the Kids in Your Doublegate Home into Baseball at Ocee Park

The kids in your Doublegate home can play baseball at Ocee Park.Youngsters who live in a Doublegate home are lucky to have very active t-ball and baseball programs. The Ocee Park Athletic Association (OPAA) works hard to provide opportunities for boys and girls ages 4 through 15 to play recreational and competitive baseball. Practices and games take place at Ocee Park, which is located on Buice Road in Johns Creek, GA. In operation for more than 24 years, the OPAA strives to teach youth the value of competition and the importance of good sportsmanship. These are great lessons that last a lifetime. It is also a great way to make new friends and meet others who live in Doublegate real estate.

Children are divided among several leagues and divisions based on age and ability. These leagues start out with recreational coach pitch and tees used as necessary. In the early years, children are randomly assigned to teams with no pre season skill assessment. As players age, they participate in a pre-season skill assessment and are then drafted to a specific team. Eventually, starting at age 9, players can try out for the select teams that participate in Inter-Park League games with other local parks. There should be a great fit for every age and skill level.

Doublegate Real Estate Owners Register for Youth Baseball by December 14th

Registration for the Spring 2018 season is open now through December 14th. The leagues do fill up fast, so consider signing up sooner rather than later. If you have multiple children living in your Doublegate home, take advantage of the new sibling discount. Pay full price for the first child but get $25 off the registration fee of each subsequent child registered. Just be sure to register all children in the same transaction for the discount to be applied. Send a message to registrar@oceepark.com with questions, or visit Ocee Park to read more about the OPAA and follow the link to register.
