According to City-Data.com, the 2014 population of Johns Creek was 83,102. A wonderful family-oriented community, Johns Creek always has things going on. There are currently four main parks with smaller local green spaces set to be developed. Newtown Park is located on 52 acres and features baseball, softball and other athletic fields. There are also basketball, bocce and tennis courts and two miles of paved trails. The Park Place Senior Center here offers programs for older residents. The Mark Burkhalter Amphitheater is also on site and features free summer concerts and other events. Ochee Park has athletic options including sand volleyball courts. Shakerag Park is the largest in acreage and has a lake, playground and nature trail.
The city's residents are serviced by the Fulton County School System. Johns Creek High School, Northview High School, Johns Creek Elementary School and Findlay Oaks Elementary School each received GreatSchools.org's highest rating of 10 out of 10. State Bridge Crossing, Barnwell and Shakerag Elementary Schools each received a rating of 8. Holy Redeemer Catholic School, Mount Pisgah Christian School and the Woodward Academy are three of the private school options here.
The Autrey Mill Nature Preserve and Heritage Center is a wonderful facility where visitors can learn about the history of the area, explore over two miles of wooded trails, and see several animal exhibits. Enjoy River Pines Golf, an 18-hole course situated along the river bank. It also has a 9-hole Par 3 course and is a great spot for all skill levels.
